PrimalScript / Alt+X / PowerShell / Mmmm…

Did you know that the latest build of PrimalScript 2007 (Professional and Enterprise) has a cool new feature for Windows PowerShell users?

Just highlight some code - an entire line, just a bit, or several lines - and press Alt+X. Only the highlighted code will execute!

This opens up a very cool new workflow. Instead of going into the shell, experimenting, and pasting your successful results into PrimalScript to create a repeatable script, you can now work entirely in PrimalScript. Just type code, highlight it, and press Alt+X. If it doesn’t do quite what you want, just modify it, highlight it, and Alt+X again. When you’ve gotten it working perfectly, just press Ctrl+S to save the file - no need to separate "the shell" and "the script."

And don’t forget - if you get something working and think you might use it again sometime, highlight it and select Save As Snippet. You’ll save the highlighted code right into PrimalScript’s Snippets Browser, where it remains available to be quickly dragged into future scripts.
